Music – Vancouver

Vancouver, B.C based solo artist Gabriela Geneva is delivering an unprecedented sound to music, drawing influence from her European roots to form her exotic and energetic pop/r&b sound. Born in Bulgaria, her family moved to England when she was just 9yrs old, and then to Canada’s West Coast at the age of 15. A unique and refreshing blend of East meets West, which is a product of being raised and influenced by these hugely artistic regions of the world, Gabriela knows she is not typical of today’s pop music diva. "I’m full of different influences and cultures and that translates into my work. The passion and fire that my roots instill in me is something I also bring to my music and my career. My parents brought us here so I could fight for what I love to do and have a shot at it.” January 2016 sees her debut single uniting these musical ideas and cultures, into the song “Tornado” - a song that perfectly encaptures the ever relatable feelings of love and hate for a person who is no good, but still has hold of your heart. The track being an instant hit with listeners, hit country-wide radio stations garnering rave reviews from coast to coast.Following the success of her first single, Gabriela once again solidified her presence in the pop world with the her second single “In The Dark”- an edm infused dance track with a bass line that has listeneres grooving. This young artists is bringing the fire and the heart to today’s music industry. On and offstage, the love for the arts and for being compassionate run through Gabriela. Before deciding to pursue a solo music career, she was headed down the path of Musical Therapy and Social Work. “I am very passionate about using music to connect with people,” she reveals, “Music has always helped me through difficult times, and I want to make sure every one of my songs has an impact so that I can hopefully be there for someone else when he or she needs it. I want them to get lost in the beat or get lost in a lyric. I want them to feel strong, and confident, and bold when they sing and dance along”. Gabriela got to connect with her growing audience across Canada this summer when she opened for Canadian recording artists Ria Mae and Shawn Hook in Winnipeg and Regina respectively. At such an early stage in her career the young singer is already making big waves and she has a lot more in store in 2017.
