Visual Art – Seattle

Hi I\'m Zal. I was born in the desert (what\'s up Tucson!) and live in the maritime-near rainforest (hello, Seattle!) My love affair/addiction to Art began early with lots of Legos and Science Fiction (read: Socially Awkward). Art making has functioned in my life as an escape, as a discipline, a method of self-discovery, a way to focus and heal myself from the pain and confusion of the world and as a celebration of That Which I Find Beautiful, and interesting. I began painting in 1996 and I am still at it. Maybe one day I will get it right. Sometimes it feels like I do. I love the exploration of new media and dabble with Vibration, Movement, Sound and Light in various forms, including performance poetry, video and ecstatic dance. In addition to my Art Practice, I power the Gallery [context], which offers curated space where local/emerging and established professional generative artists show vibrant work (within a ‘gallery context’) as well as event space for fine art, performance and literary communities.
