Music – Ottawa

Gillian Elizabeth Fenwick is a 17 year old singer from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She started singing when she was six years old, performed her first solo at the age of seven for a school holiday concert, and has been performing solos and in various groups ever since. Gillian started taking vocal lessons in September 2012 at Barrhaven Music Academy with teacher Tashi Bernard, and continues to attend a vocal band there with two other singers and Tashi as their coach. She now takes piano and vocal lessons with Shann Bailey and is a part of a program called The Voice Ottawa. Gillian won the Senior Division of Greely Idol 2013 at age 13, making her the youngest Senior Champion in the contest's history. In February 2015, she was the runner up of the Senior Division of Vars Idol. Gillian took part in an artist development boot-camp run by Talent Nation in summer 2014, and was a finalist in seasons 2 and 3 of Talent Nation. Gillian was one of the youngest semi-finalists of Ottawa Idol 2014, a top 6 finalist 2015, and a top 12 finalist in 2016.In May 2015 and 2016, she sung four songs along with many other talented young artists at the Ottawa Idol Red Carpet Concert. She is now preparing for the Ottawa Idol Holiday Concert which with include performances from all of the 2016 finalists and will take place in December. Gillian has sung O Canada at her 8th grade graduation in 2013, at the Canada Day festival in Greely in 2013, and at the Greater Nepean Chamber of Commerce's 10th Anniversary Breakfast in 2014. She is hoping to sing the national anthem at sports game in the near future. Gillian continues to perform at coffeehouses, concerts and other gigs around Ottawa. She dreams of one day writing and recording her own album, and playing her own live show.
