Visual Art – Boston

Kristen Momoko Schafer, better known as Momo, is focused on using the evocative crystal-like material as her main tool of self-expression. She is also in her second year as an Artist-in-Residence at New Street Glass Studio, affiliated with Worcester Center for Crafts. In her most recent work she showcases interactive sculptures and installations that attempt to break down the social expectations around galleries and fine art realms. The objective is to promote an educational dialogue around taboo human behavior and enable her audience to have a tangible relationship with glass sculptures. It is important to her that her artwork continues to grow in a direction that is all inclusive. She is looking forward to creating work that is more site specific, while seeking opportunities to collaborate with creative minds.
