Val Habisreitinger

I am Brian Val Habisreitinger. I\'m a self-taught, Nola native. Art was always my calling. I have always created various things, but never at the level of quality and quantity that I believe I have now. I\'ve always had a strong desire to sculpt. I guess I just found it intimidating though. One mistake and all is lost. Or so I thought. It only forces you to be more creative. One day while watching t.v. I saw a man take a chainsaw to a huge chunk of wood. A 1/2 hour later an outstanding sculpture of a mermaid in the foaming sea emerged. It was time for a crash course. The next morning, with a borrowed chainsaw, I made my first piece. I instantly knew this is exactly what I should have been doing the whole time. That was April of 2012, thirteen months ago. I don\'t have delusions of riches or fame. Besides, you usually have to be dead first. Right? I do ,however, believe my work merits itself being shown to the public. I hope that you too will agree and enjoy these pieces as much as I do.
