For those too young to have seen the mighty Zep rock the Garden; for the masses too late to have witnessed the man in the hat wield the axe for Guns N' Roses; and for those who yearn for a no frills, no gimmicks rock and roll show characteristic of the men who defined this era—you've stumbled to the right place. This Edmonton-based quartet is committed to the values bound to the authentic rock sound: extended guitar solos, incendiary vocal howls, and a truly colossal thunder-of-the-Gods rhythm section. With Mitchell Reynaud on vocals and guitar, Kyle Green on bass, Spenny Reynaud on drums and Johno Hermary on lead guitar, Heaviside channels an array of artists from rock's heyday. Since forming in 2006, Heaviside has built a reputation as a firing-on-all-cylinders live act. They've performed extensively throughout Alberta, chalking up performances at Alberta's Own Independent Music Festival, Boonstock Music Festival, and the Rainmaker Music Festival to name a few. In 2010, Heaviside solidified their spot among the province's finest, placing sixth out of 72 acts in the Alberta's Last Band Standing contest. Heaviside's 2012 release Wasted Generation was acclaimed by listeners across the country: singles "Queen For A Day," "Lady" and "War Machine" all made inroads on the Canadian Active Rock Chart. Omnivore, the much anticipated follow-up was released in November 2015 and has earned the band new fan interest in such faraway places as Britain, France, Finland and Africa. The band's do-it-yourself approach has gained attention from some of the industry's influential figures. The band has twice been profiled by Canadian music expert Alan Cross, and they have been nominated for two Edmonton Music Awards. Make no mistake, rock and roll is very much alive.
