Lunetta Jewelry

Fashion – Austin

Creating jewelry first appealed to me because it gave me an opportunity to use the body as a canvas. The idea of adorning the body is intriguing for both the creator and the one wearing the piece. It becomes a personal and interactive piece of art. I first started designing jewelry and working with metal while attending the University of North Texas, where I completed my BFA. It is here that I began to take pride in practicing traditional metalsmithing processes. My current designs introduce alternative materials to make the jewelry more compelling and sensory. I often combine hard and soft, metal and fibers and found objects. I thrive on the idea of making art that is wearable and defies the conformities of what typically makes jewelry beautiful.
