Artisan Maskers

Accessories – Salt Lake City

We are a group of cousins, sisters, and friends who started making masks as accessories for a fancy party and became addicted! We use very non-traditional mask-making methods because we build each new mask base on to a mold, rather than using the traditional method of pressing papier-mâché pulp in to a mold. We find this method preferable because it frees up our creativity, forcing us to make each mask unique from the base up. Also, it allows us to use a variety of (generally used) paper. We make our own papier-mâché using 20#-weight paper or newspaper from the recycling bin.
