Visual Art – New York - NYC

I am a mixed media artist. I began my body of work in 2009. It is wholly an expression of my personal encounters and daily experience. I incorporate an old spirit by utilizing found objects, antique, vintage and salvage both in my work and/or mountings. I draw much inspiration from the craft of the old. My collages are a representation of suffering, rising, and human spirit through color, texture, depth and technique displaying women, children and flowers as a core. The importance of the process is marked by my choice of medium through an array of acrylic paints, original photography, glass beads, and blended fibers, I use different painting, transfer and imaging techniques that express a modern, yet traditional, classic, independent spirit. My work propels me and the viewer from the past to the present to the possibilities of the future. That what wants to be revealed, also remains hidden. As the process unfolds from the past, it is the expression that becomes the release from bondage and permits a surrender, a letting go so that the present is in the forefront and the past fades. In 2013, I began sculpture and assemblage that reflect this spirit evolving with the use of the primitive to meld to the contemporary. Much has been expressed into industrial and garage art.
