Shawn Etheridge

I\'m a visual artist based in Raleigh, NC. Born in Elizabeth City, NC. Been creating art in some form for over 25yrs. Ive been a songwriter, vocalist, producer, sculptor, and painter. I would get bored with one and jump to another just to keep the excitement flowing, but I\'ve pretty much settled into painting. For some reason I tend to use blue in a lot of my work. It\'s difficult for me to say what kind of artist I am because I paint whatever gets me going at the moment. At times I focus more on the style I use more than the subject. I contribue this aspect to a love of Hiphop(not rap) just as true hip hop heads would focus on their style whether it was breaking, djing, graffiti or m.c.ing. I do tend to paint alot of music artist but switch to abstracts to avoid getting bored with it. Almost all of my paintings are done with either DECOColor paint pens or oil pastels.
