Imogen Clendinning

Visual Art – Ottawa

Imogen Clendinning is a working artist and youth facilitator from Northern Ontario, who produces work reflecting on her environmental surroundings and cultural influences. Her more recent work reacts to old media, using controversial imagery and traditional medium in order to expose flaw and humour in dated cult film. She has worked with several local galleries in North Bay, Ontario including the WKP Kennedy Gallery and the White Water, and has just recently been organizing performance and guerrilla art in participation with the Black Water Art Collective. Clendinning has recently been influenced by tattoo culture, making works that seek to blur the lines between what is considered 'commercial' and 'fine' arts.
