My first name is Itishar (eye-tish-uh-silent 'R'), but you can call me Tish. I am a first-generation Caribbean-American french-fry lover who was born and raised in North Minneapolis, MN. I first fell in love with art in my high-school painting class. Shout out to Ms. J! From her class, I developed a love for painting and after graduating from high school, I spent a lot of my free time working on projects for myself and as gifts for others. At no point did I think to pursue it further than that. Fast forward almost 10 years-- I go to my first RAW show as an attendee to support a friend. It was that show back in 2017 that sparked my interest in pursuing art further and prompted me to create an Instagram page to showcase my work (you can follow me on IG at itishart) It was there that I began my journey with pet portraits and in just a few months was invited to participate in my own showcase with RAW in their OVATION pop-up last fall. My experience was amazing and extremely eye-opening and I am ecstatic to be back this year. Using acrylic paint and a realistic lens, I love recreating pet portraits as well as landscapes, animals, and anything else I feel inclined to put on canvas.
