Visual Art – San Francisco

I have been drawing for four years and painting for three years. My junior year of highschool I started teaching myself to draw and my senior year of highschool I received a scholarship to attend Ryman Arts where I further broadened my skills in the graphite and charcoal medium. At Ryman Arts I discovered art school as an option but the school did not teach painting in their intermediate classes so I had to teach myself to paint in order to apply for schools. I was accepted into Otis, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, as well as The San Francisco Art Institute where I am attending today. Over the summer of 2016 I assisted photographer Marco David where I learned skills such as lighting various things and people in nature or in the studio; skills that I use in my painting as well as my photography today. I continue to teach myself skills outside of the classroom having learned self discipline is the best way to be good at something.
