JASON ACTON

Visual Art – San Diego

Hello , My name is Jason Acton and I am a color-blind artist. I use primary colors to create an organized, clean, and geometric balance to my composition. My artistic style is inspired from Pop Art because of the use of primary colors on a two-dimensional surface. On the canvas, I use complementary and primary colors, dots, and occasionally shading. Each color has 4-5 layers of paint applied to them, to create a thick opaque color. All creating the idea of motion, depth, and three-dimensional effects. The large canvas in the range of 48in x 60in I put between 400 to 500 hours of work into them. In addition to pop acrylic works, I also take images from my paintings and turn them into stencils, which I screen-print onto fabrics by overlapping the design. I use the colors and designs of the fabric with the stencil, which incorporates added dimension to the over all composition. Also I work with furniture, lighting design, and upholstery. Outside of my preferred style, I create paintings which reflect my personality, as well as my interests in graphic/interior design, architecture, and music.
