Visual Art – Indianapolis

Jedediah Johnson was born on May 31st, 1979 in Indianapolis, Indiana. At the tender age of 18 he lit out for Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California’s school of Cinema-Television. Frustrated by the lethargy of the process of Filmmaking, he took up Photography in 1999. No longer interested by Film or School, Jedediah dropped out of Film School in the year 2000. For the next 4 years he honed his craft by photographing parties and models around Los Angeles. After a spirited yet casual, 6 month, battle with cancer in 2005 he decided to get serious about something and photography certainly was something. He graduated with distinction with a BFA in photography from Art Center College of Design in December of 2009. In 2013 he received his MFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. After a brief stint teaching at Wilbur Wright College and SAIC, he returned to Indianapolis, to begin work on a new familial history project titled My Father’s Murder.
