Performing Art – Toronto

I love everything about bellydance and have a hard time containing my enthusiasm! I perform as a soloist and in groups for private parties, fundraisers and events, including participating in and attending shows within the bellydance community, which I consider a second home : ) I\'ve been dancing for 5 years and have been in a number of collaborative troupes, groups and companies. I have worked on two theatrical productions, one as the Director of Marketing & Communications. I\'m a founding member of the Om Laila Bellydance Choir since spring 2014. We are a group of bellydance artists learning how to sing in Arabic, play percussion and put it all together in performance. In the last year I\'ve been intently studying the finger cymbals and self-accompaniment (playing your own music when you dance!) and becoming as much a musician and percussionist as dancer. My dance and music teacher is Master instructor, Roula Said of Toronto. There\'s also my blog http://www.kaleena-bellydance.com/ about my latest dance adventures and the fun and friendships that are experienced through dance. I attend classes and teach at Om Laila Studio in Toronto, which offers bellydance and wellness and is geared toward artists working on bringing out their own creativity and authentic self through dance. The studio is hidden in a treehouse-like coach house, through a lush, secret garden. In my real life I work in marketing, in my spare time, I just started making raw gemstone necklaces called Fairy Garden Bling.
