Katherine Thomas

I was born in Plano, Texas, and quickly moved to the suburbs of San Francisco and then to Florida. After this, my family planted themselves on a mountain in Utah for 8 years, which was where I first began to observe. Really observe, and take things in. When we moved to Indiana was when I first began to explore the world of art. I knew nothing of art, of course, but I picked up my first camera when I was 12 or 13. This is when I began to learn that not only can I simply capture, I can also create. I love to explore this spectrum of creating a surreal, unlikely scene – to capturing someone’s most personal moments. The moments that are the most real, shown through the slightest hints of emotion. Maybe I can capture it.
