Katie Stanton

Visual Art – Vancouver

Katie Stanton is an abstract finger painter who predominantly uses her hands and fingers to paint. By doing so, she is able to physically connect with each piece and the movement, energy and emotion that goes into each piece allows her to connect with the viewers. Katie left her home in England to travel the world and in 2017 she settled in Vancouver. Broke but inspired, she was unable to afford paintbrushes so improvised by using her hands and through this discovered a whole new way of working and connecting with her practice. The characteristics of her work include bold colours, movement, heavy mark making and texture.
