Visual Art – San Antonio

Born in Albuquerque New Mexico, I was raised in a region surrounded by art and culture. One of my grandmothers was a painter and my father a sculptor, jeweler and metalsmith, so I come from an artistic lineage. I always drew and painted as a boy and became more serious with time. I was into skateboarding, heavy metal, punk rock and hip hop and the art involved in those subcultures. I was introduced to graffiti art of a teenager, which lit a fire in me to pursue art more seriously. I painted signs and murals, did illustration and graphic design, whatever I could during my early twenties. I became a tattooer at age 23, a path that has become my focus and influence throughout my career. I once heard someone say "art is a verb" and have since endeavored to realize that as my mantra, hoping to always remain a perpetual student, teacher and creative producer.
