Kirsty is an established dance artist specialising in performing arts of the Near East. She is recognised within the region as an expert in her field and a dynamic and versatile performer. Since discovering the art of belly dance as a teen, Kirsty has maintained a lasting dedication and passion for the dance. A passion that has led her to study not just Egyptian dance but to dedicate her academic study to the history, culture, language and politics of the dance; a well-pool of knowledge she brings to each of her performances. This knowledge and understanding of Middle-Eastern culture and dance has seen Kirsty become a seasoned performer. She has danced alongside Turkish pop-stars and entertainers Tanyeli and Fatih Urek in their Australia concert and has appeared as a guest artist in with the prestigious Hathor Dance Theatre. She is also one of the few dance artists in Australia to perform Azeri folkloric dance and roman havasi (Turkish Romany) dance. Kirsty is the resident dancer at Saffron restaurant in Kingston, where you can see her perform every Saturday evening and watch her expertise and love for the dance come to life.
