Artist, Karlyn O’Hanley, inspired by her personal earth- and sea-drenched life experiences, combines bright, bold colours with tempting-to-touch textures, to create wall art that captivates the mind and calms the soul. A woman belonging to both of Canada’s scenic coasts, O'Hanley was born on one of Canada’s most beautiful islands and raised surrounded by dreamers and artists. In Halifax, O’Hanley nourished her artistic instincts under the tutelage of a few select masters and studied floral arrangement and jewelry design at the renowned Fireworks Gallery. A restless adventure seeker, O’Hanley is a well-heeled traveler who counts GLA, NYC, ICAO, BKK, YEZ, and YKA, among her most memorable destinations. O’Hanley’s deepest well of inspiration continues to come from a rare, life-affirming solo excursion in the Sicamous Mountains. Living in solitude, O’Hanley found peace and power from the howling mountain winds and the sheen of the golden sun. After 65 days alone, O’Hanley left the Mountains for the ocean; returning home to create. With every canvass, O’Hanley welcomes you to surrender to colours and textures branded by the influences of Mother Gaia.
