Visual Art – Toronto

Kristian Gutauskas was born in Mississauga, Ontario and spent his young child-hood in Port Credit before moving around from Hamilton, Brampton and Georgetown reaching his current residence of Toronto. Kristian showed an interest in the arts starting from his early childhood, always doodling in classes and coming up with concepts for comic characters with his friends during recess and at home. It was apparent to him that art was always going to be a part of his life. He continued to grow and create with great support from his parents and eventually found himself recieving his certificate in the Visual and Digital Arts at Humber College. Kristian Gutauskas is a free-lance painter, illustrator and general visual artist. He is constantly looking for new ways to express his thoughts and visually voice his concerns about our world and the people in it. Common themes that can be found in his work touch on corruption, abuse of self and others, fear, consumption and doomed futures. Through his surrealist visions, Kristian hopes to convey the message that even though our world is in serious trouble, we cannot hope to fix things if we cannot first take care of ourselves and one another properly, body and spirit together. Kristian's choice mediums are Oil paint, Marker, ink, and watercolour.
