Visual Art – Spokane

I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. Even as a small child I was drawn to the Art world. In grade school I won my first art award…a “Mr. Yuck” drawing competition (the green yuck face you stick on hazardous household poisons). In Middle school and High school I had two unbelievably wonderful art teachers who taught me the basics of art…Balance, Composition, Color, Subject Matter, Techniques. These two teachers lit the fire within me. I went on to win a few other awards, one including a painting entitled “A hard day’s work” that hung in the capital building in Washington, DC. As I branch out I am constantly in search of new styles…textures…new techniques. That’s the wonderful thing about art, endless possibilities. There is no other place on earth that I feel more true to myself than with messy palette and brush in my hand, and a blank Canvas in front of me.
