Visual Art – Toronto

I was born in Victoria BC, moved to ON armed with big dreams and an Art Scholarship... Painting is a release of emotion for me. It is a very intimate expression of what I see in my head and feel in inside. I have always been drawn to the work of the Abstract Expressionists, and I too feel that the act of painting is just as important as the outcome. Every color selected and every brushstroke painted is calculated, meaningful and placed with purpose. When I stand in front of the canvas I feel like a conductor in front of a symphony guiding and leading the instruments, only I am instead armed with my brush, or palette knife, and it is the paint that plays out the “music”. For me, painting is like eating, breathing, and sleeping; it is an extension of who I am. Anyone that wants to know a little more about who I am, and how I tick, need only dig a little deeper when viewing my art. My desire is that the viewer be empowered and moved by the visual display in front of them and that they be captivated by the colors, their movement, and that they allow the art to speak to them of whatever it is they want.
