Fashion – San Jose

Growing up in the Central Valley, I always found ways to exercise a deeply seeded interest in design. At the age of eight, I started sewing lessons, at the initiation of her grandmother, who hoped to give me a constructive outlet for creativity. Much to my irritation, my instructor would only allow the use of premade patterns, so I began designing and making clothing at home, often using my siblings (I have 3 younger) and friends as in-house models. Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelors of Fine Art in Fashion Design at The Art Institute of California–San Francisco (AiCA-SF). There, I am involved with the Alpha Beta Kappa Honors Society, Delta Epsilon Chapter, now holding the position of Vice President, having been a member for about 2.5 years. To afford the obligations of going to school, I also work part-time at Old Navy, as I live in Fresno, but commute to campus in San Francisco now two days a week.
