Visual Art – Dallas - Fort Worth

I'm a 21 year old multi-racial self taught artist from Dallas, TX. Many people always ask me how I taught myself to paint and well there's kind of a funny, wild, story behind it.. Besides the fact that I loved art class throughout all of grade school, middle school, and highschool... I never really painted or drew at home outside of coloring books at one point in my young life. The journey really began when I was a senior in highschool. I was in a long distance relationship with a guy who lived in Massachusetts. (Yeah I think I am crazy too now that I look back, because WTF is a "Massachusetts"?) Long story short, I went to his home town & attended his prom. Later, we planned to go to the same college together and we both got accepted to a really great college in North Andover, Massachusetts. We both graduated highschool. Summer came along and I started partying for the first time in my life.. he didn't like it basically, so we ended up breaking up. (I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR MY FLIGHT FOR COLLEGE... I DECIDED TO GO TO SCHOOL IN FREAKING MASSACHUSETTS TO BE WITH HIM!!!!) End of August comes around; its time for me to get ready to leave all my friends and family in Texas to go to school with my ex.. in Massachusetts. We end up getting back together, break up again, but I had joined an art club to get my mind off of him. You can imagine how heartbroken I was. No family or familiar friends out there, just my ex. The art club gave me some utensils the 1st class I attended including shading pencils, water color pencils and a huge drawing pad. I learned to escape from my own mind through shading pencils. I never knew how lost I could get inside of my own mind, yet I found myself at the same time. Not too long after this, I popped my ear drum and it made my college life so difficult because i couldn't get out of bed without my ear bleeding. I fell behind in all of my classes and became very stressed out.. on top of dealing with a breakup. I ended up dropping out in the first semester. When my ex found out I was going back to Texas all he said was "God bless"....... it was all a learning experience LOL. When I got back home from school it was the end of October in 2014. It was hard to get hired anywhere with barely any work experience, so in the mean time I began drawing and painting pictures of attractive people off of Twitter who had a lot of followers. So that they could share it with their fan bases. Later, I learned this was a networking technique. I built up a mini fan base on my Twitter and Snapchat account.. and it has been growing since then. Eventually, I got a real job. I never went back to college, and now I am just an entrepreneur looking for new opportunities that include my artistic abilities.
