Visual Art – Minneapolis

I'm a 32 year old gal from Minneapolis, MN who's revisiting the world of creativity after a 13 year stint inside the buttoned down business of peddling smut. I'm classically trained in the art of sarcasm and after seven indecisive years, I almost received a degree from MCTC for photography/digital imaging. I'm all about organized chaos, I normally have a thousand ideas running throughy brain, and about twenty projects going on all at once. Currently my main projects entail... Grown up sized blanket forts, tripped out/politically focused digital collage, funky uv jewelz, and tiny trippy dioramas. All of which I sincerely hope you folks enjoy! I grew up loving art and took advantage of every creative opportunity offered to me as a youngster, which was only possible because of my crazy family and the colorful surroundings/characters that were always part of my life. I specifically have my grandmother Diane to thank for introducing me to artists like Luis Rojo, Brian Froud, and Frank Frazetta at a very young age. My grandma is insanely talented, I've looked up to her my whole life and she's always pushed me to be a better artist, she NEVER sugar coats shit. It wouldn't matter if I was seven or seventy, if I draw wonky hands grandma's going to tell me... "Girl, something isn't right with those hands". That being said, I found out pretty quickly that 2D mediums weren't my strong suit, but 3D forms of art, like... pottery, jewelry making, tiny diorama building, and lighting/photography are absolutely my jam! I don't just take pictures and create tiny worlds, I'm also a wife to a wonderful man named Mike, a mommy to a 3yr old chocolate lab named Braxas, a step-mommy to a 21yr old human boy named Gage, and the eldest child of a huge family, with six amazing siblings. Family is a key element in my life, which doesn't only extend to blood relatives. My "amoeba family", which is a term coined by my siblings and I to describe those who have been lights in our lives, are equally or often times more important than those I share a bloodline with. All of these folks are super de duper important to me in so many ways and I don't know where I would be without each and every one of them. That's it... Me in a several paragraph long nutshell. I Hope ya'll enjoy my art and stop by my 6'x6' slice of ultra violent heaven to say hello!
