Mara

I am in love with so much in life. I get lost staring in to my coffee or the dust falling. I feel so many little things, and I feel them so intensely. I fall in love with moments, passages in books, my own memories, stories, strangers, and words. I love the struggle it takes to be human, and the simplicity of emotions, even though they really never are. And the way in certain moments, everything can melt in to nothingness to become art. My heart is filled with bliss when I am with my daughter, painting, or traveling. Those are the three things I cannot live with out. I am happy because I fill my days with gratitude. I am thankful for every pleasant experience that has filled me with joy, and I am thankful for every trial, because through them I have grown. I believe in laughing, because joy is contagious. I think that I always have a choice, I can cry or I can laugh - and I choose the second. In my art classes, I teach my students that we are all connected. Although this not always understood by them, I truly believe this.
