Maria VanderMolen

Visual Art – Las Vegas

The Art of Maria VanderMolen . Call it Meditative. Call it overwhelming patience. Call it OCD. No matter what you call it, the work of Maria VanderMolen will cause you to pause, in wonder, as you try to determine if this is beadwork, or stitchery, and then you realize it is paint. . After spending many years in Michigan, Maria is thrilled to call Las Vegas home. She was trained in Advertising and Graphic Design, but has worked in Human Resources for over 20 years after finding retail advertising too restrictive (in the 80\'s!). . Maria loves experimenting, and several years back developed a new artform, \"dimensional pointillism\", and now she can\'t stop dotting. Originally used to create \"beaded\" masks, she took the technique to the large canvas incorporating fabric collage, paint, markers, and found objects. Inspired by the desert, and the Las Vegas Arts world, her work has exploded. The Arts are growing in Las Vegas, and she\'s ready to show the rest of the world. . Maria has been a Board Member of the Vegas Artists Guild for three years, and is a strong supporter of Arts in Las Vegas. Her work as been shown at the PeaceNart Studio, Jenny Valdez Gallery, and La Chica Gallery - all in the Arts Factory, at the N.O.I.S.E. Project, the College of Southern Nevada, Dinosaurs and Roses, Studio 810, City of the World Gallery, and numerous other group shows around Las Vegas. .
