Visual Art – Nashville

Louisiana native, born in Bossier City, blossomed in Natchitoches, and recently transplanted to Nashville, Tennessee. Recently I completed my BFA at Northwestern State University, where I focused on acrylic painting and ink drawing. As an undergraduate my passion was sharing art with "underprivileged" youth, and I spent two years as the volunteer director of an after school, state funded art "club" at a local elementary school. As an artist my goal is to one day have my work displayed in museums like NOMA or the Smithsonian and eventually be listed as relevant in art history textbooks. So far I've represented NSULA as a visual artist at the ULS Academic Art Summit and I was invited to paint "En Plein Air" at a benefit for the homecoming of murals by Louisiana folk artist Clementine Hunter to the African House of Melrose Plantation. In Tennessee my work has been hosted at Rippavilla Plantation and Pickers Creek Winery. Painting, for me, is an outward expression of my daydreams where the living world thrives in my minds eye. I hope you can learn to see the living world as auspicious and rich. Be curious, go on adventures, exist both in the world and of the world. Peel back the film, breathe deeply, and enjoy the view.
