Visual Art – Melbourne

I am mainly self-taught and work in oils but I also enjoy sketching in charcoal, graphite and creating clay bust mini-sculptures. My ‘style’ could probably best be described as contemporary realism, and I tend to be drawn to the more traditional Atelier techniques in execution. That said, I do enjoy a bit of experimenting as well! I love doing portraits and seeking out the uniqueness of the different characters that make us up as a people. Another favourite is Still Lives, but I started with landscapes and am looking forward to dipping my toe back in there again soon! I began painting and drawing during a difficult recovery after a major operation in late 2014, but I have now found my passion in art (apart from my kids of course!) and am pursuing further study. I have embarked on a Fine Arts Degree, but prior to that I have completed intensives and other course work at Melbourne Studio of Art in Elsternwick. I was also honoured and thrilled to be selected to exhibit at The Camberwell Art Show in 2018 and The Mornington Art Show in Jan 2019. I am looking forward to seeing where my artistic journey takes me and the wonderful characters I’ll meet and expressions I can make in this newfound language!
