Visual Art – Baltimore

Miel was born in the District of Columbia, raised in Takoma Park, Maryland. She is a self-taught abstract artist who has had a fond interest in art and design since grade school. She obtained a Masters in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University in 2005. After years of laboratory and project management, Miel was drawn back to her love of art. Using the acrylic medium, her style encompasses exploring the abstract in everyday common items. She is inspired to make art because there are no limits to what she can express or say; it is a road without an end that stimulates her imagination. She knows it is there, but how far she will have to go until she reaches it is left up to her mood. Making art awakens her soul and activates several levels of the abstraction. Art provides her with the ability to explore the unknown.
