Jared "MK Zulu" Bailey is a twenty-seven-year-old trumpeter/singer/lyricist from Forestville, Maryland. Graduating from Howard in 2013 with a Bachelor's in Music Business, he recently received his Master's in Jazz Performance from Rutgers University. Bailey has performed in the DMV area for the past 8 years with a variety of local ensembles and is now a music teacher/private lessons instructor. Aside from performing with local ensemble DuPont Brass, MK Zulu is an artist in his own right, using his various musical skills to break down the genre walls built by the music industry. Though still young, Bailey has had the privilege of headlining the St. Louis Jazz Festival in Senegal, Africa with the Howard Jazztet, performing with Grammy-nominated Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, and touring with award winning R&B legend Genuine. His most recent project, "The R.A.N.T.S. Experiment" is set to be released in the spring of 2018.
