Moo is an American rock band from Santa Cruz, California. The band\'s music is generally dominated by free-ranging vocals and unusual time signatures. Rhythmically, they take heavy influence from funk, progressive rock, and jazz, and vox-wise, from Eddie Vedder, Jeff Buckley, and much of the vocally-driven 90\'s grunge movement.
Their songs are often linked by common characters, settings, and themes, vocalists Sean Campbell and Casey Dayan utilizing their unique vocal styles to \"play\" the parts of different characters and narrators. In this way, the band takes heavy compositional influences from \"story-rock\" bands such as mewithoutYou, The Mountain Goats, and The Decemberists.
Moo\'s live performances are intimate and personal: their lyrics and music are commonly improvised, and songs are prefaced with stories that introduce characters, themes, and plots.
