Fashion – Pittsburgh
Mariah Sanchez was born in York, PA in 1995. She was drawn to fashion at a young age as she would put together unique outfits to go to school in. Going into high school she was introduced to sewing classes that progressed her skills up until her senior year when she decided that she had the talent to make this in to a career.
In 2012, Mariah started her first year of college at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh for her Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design. Even though she was advanced in sewing of garments, she learned to improve her skills through pattern-making and the knowledge of textiles. She found her passion for active wear when she was introduced to lifting and the healthy lifestyle. “Women should feel fearless, powerful, and unique with what they wear inside and outside the gym, and that’s exactly what I want to provide them with,” said Mariah herself. With what she thought would be an obstacle to work with knits and stretch of materials, came naturally to her as she built her aesthetic around it.
As Mariah keeps progressing her skills she will continue to learn more about the industry and push her talents.
