Natascha Bessez

Music – New York - NYC

From New York to Naples, Ibiza to Istanbul, Natascha Bessez\'s music is the definition of international. In today\'s global dance music community, her hypnotic beats and sultry vocals are likely to be heard on sun kissed beaches, wintery northern cities and all points in between. Influenced equally by the timeless melodies of French troubadours such as Charles Azvanour and Serge Gainsbourg through to the contemporary sounds of Leona Lewis and Christina Aguilera, Natascha\'s taste reflects a cosmopolitan woman equally at home on both sides of the Atlantic. No real surprise when you consider her roots and upbringing: a French father, a Chilean mother, European vacations and a home in the Big Apple. It\'s an attractive cultural pot-pourri that has the glamor of Gucci and the soul of Harlem. Not surprisingly Natascha is an alumni of New York\'s famed LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts. At 13, she started her classical training while developing a passion for the gospel choir she sang in. LaGuardia gave Natascha some of her fondest musical memories to date. Highlights included performances alongside legends like Patti LaBelle and Hugh Masekela at world- renowned venues like Town Hall and Carnegie Hall. Her biggest thrill occurred when, in her senior year, Paul Simon surprised the choir by joining in the middle of the show. With a personality to match her stunning vocals, Natascha took her first step towards the spotlight soon after graduating. She was first crowned Miss New York Teen USA, then going on to compete in Donald Trump\'s nationally televised Miss Teen USA Pageant, in which she ranked top 15 in the country. At the end of her reign, Natascha was chosen from thousands of hopefuls as a finalist in the CW11\'s hit reality show \"The Search For The Next Doll\" for a chance to secure a spot in the world famous group the Pussycat Dolls. The experience led her to relocate to Madrid, Cannes, and Belgium, where she was able to work with high-profile producers on an electro-pop project. The experience left her truly inspired by the musical roots of her culture. She then decided to return state-side to use this newfound inspiration to create her own sound. Though broadly speaking Natascha\'s music falls into the electro pop/dance genre, her songs, melodies and vocals enjoy equal billing with some infectious grooves guaranteed to energize dance floors worldwide. Like her idols Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren before her, Natascha epitomizes the classic style of the South of France, the effortless sensuality and timeless chic. Her music prides itself on its originality, daringly mixing, in places, French inflections or Latin rhythms with blistering grooves. Most importantly, her songs are rife with memorable melodies. “I believe in the idea of having great melodies to drive the music. I want to be able to do any song I sing acoustically, accappella – I want the lyrics and melody to be able to stand on their own.”
