Naté Allen Originals

Visual Art – Chicago

A budding young artist from the south side of Chicago, Naté Allen often uses painting, photography and creative writing as an expressive outlet and therapeutic tool to organize her thoughts. As an active advocate for mental wellness, Naté themes her works to mirror the inner workings of the human mind, most specifically her own personal experiences with depression and anxiety. In her latest collection entitled “Beauty in Brokenness,” Naté sheds light on values such as self awareness, insight, clarity, and humility during the rebuilding process. When recounting the reason that she’s so connected to art, she explains that “it bleeds truth into a world of lies and pries open doors otherwise cemented shut by normalcy. It unclogs expressive blockages and unravels jumbled notions. It wipes tears from blurred eyes and clears obstructed views. It silences unfamiliarity and sparks affinity between perfect strangers. And it so beautifully alters perception and bewilders the rational mind.”
