Music – Richmond
With influences ranging from punk to classical, Nervous Pudding has a unique flavor of rock music. Based in the Washington, D.C. area, the band describes their music as “old-fashioned rock and roll for modern times.” Their original compositions feature dense lyrics blurring melancholy desperation and positive passion, generally accompanied either by guitar-driven hard rock or lush, piano-based ballads - with some stark acoustic songs in between.
The band is fronted by Andi MacIntire, who serves as lead singer, guitarist, and principal songwriter. Ryan Todd provides an emotional anchor on piano, supported by the tight rhythms of heart-throb drummer, Justin \"ThunderRod\" Smith.
Nervous Pudding released its first singles, “Words, Words, Words” and “The Problem” in the spring of 2013, and followed with their debut LP of original content, Oh, Tonight, in September. The band supported the album with numerous shows in Washington D.C., Richmond, Leesburg, and Chantilly before releasing a new EP of original songs in the summer of 2014 titled Desperate for Attention. Nervous Pudding continues to play in the Washington D.C. and Richmond, VA metropolitan areas.
