Organic knot and braid work inspire the Nicole Paskauskas spring/summer 2015 accessories collection ‘Wrapped’.
Nicole develops a hair wrapping technique celebrating the memories of schooldays when wearing accessories as well as braiding and dying your hair was the perfect way to improve your school uniform and bend the school rules.
Inspirations came from tree roots and overgrown shrubbery captured within photographs taken of the abandoned Salesian College in Battersea. The way in which the roots and plant life have tangled and encapsulated the buildings translate initially into headpieces and then into bangles, hair clips, earphones, necklaces, earrings and anklet pieces.
Using super soft organic lambs wool and Nicole’s signature playful pop of colour against monotone greya and natural undyed yarns mimics the memory of a dull school uniform whilst the neon yellow jelly-elastic yarn creates an unexpected textural contrast, evoking a crave for senses and a need for touch.
The consistency in the colour range allows for each piece to be mixed and matched together using hand woven techniques and leather details to ensure a high quality finish.
Nicole Paskauskas’ SS15 collection embodies the confidence of a fashionable woman who hopes to compliment their look with a fun statement piece or two to enhance their outfit or even their school uniform!
Nicole Paskauskas is launching a company that can provide Luxurious braiding for hair and accessories and will be officially launching a press collection of braided pieces showcasing at the LCF annual Runway show on 19th June and at RAW Artists London event on 3rd July.
