NIGHTSHADE is the apotheosis of a RAW natural born artist! NIGHTSHADE’s artistic talents span over many genres of artistic expression. Prior to his move to San Francisco in 2009, Alex was a professional ballet dancer in Denver, CO. In addition to touring nationally with the David Taylor Dance Theater, Alex has performed with Moraporvida Contemporary Dance and 7dancers. \"Dance technique is what my formal training consist of. The knowledge of form & function I draw from dance is recycled and reapplied in different areas of expression.” Under the pseudonym of NIGHTSHADE, Alex creates paintings, poster art, video installations, short films and fashion One aspect of NIGHTSHADE’s skills is live video art (VJ), performing a high contrast clash of colors and light mixed in with ionic pop culture references, static textures, and cult film imagery. Catch his visual show at different venues in SF such as Monarch, Academy of Sciences Nightlife, F*UK YEAH at The Boom Boom Room and Public Works.Previously NIGHTSHADE was with RAW as a visual artist (VJ). For the Provocations (SF 10/25) show he will be entering the ring as a performance artist, modeling wearable art pieces created by NIGHTSHADE himself.
