Fashion – Boston

Isabel came to the United States in 1992, from her native Colombia, in pursuit of her dream to design fashions that accentuated the sensual curves of a women’s body, captured in the spirit of elegance. Isabel has been most influenced by designers Versace and Cavalli. As a young girl growing up in Colombia, Isabel had a passion for design, creating designs for her dolls and taking classes in sewing in her hometown of Palmira. Isabel attended Esmoda School of Fashion in Cali, Colombia, graduating in 1990. In 1995, after moving to the United States, she studied at the Burdette School in Boston, Ma. Isabel shows annually at Boston Fashion Week, Boston Fashion Awards and Rock the Runway, a benefit for the American Cancer Society. In 2010, RCN Television, one of the largest television networks in Colombia, named Isabel “Hacedora de Patria” ( a proud and honored citizen of Colombia) and featured her story in a show about Colombian immigrant’s work outside of the country. In 2010 Isabel created Original Living Magazine to provide the opportunity to help artists and designers like herself get more exposure for their work. Isabel participated in the M.I.T. deScience Fashion Show in 2014. Family is everything to Isabel she is a single mom raising her sons Jhon Lopez and Duver Medina. Isabel has her own retail boutique where she designs, sews and sells her original work. Despite many adversities I faced, I never lost my passion.
