Milagros Martinez began her craft with beading jewelry, but then felt inspired to combine her religious belief in the Yoruba tradition with her artistry. She started beading African Orisha folklore on cards, paper, gourds and other sacred religious objects. A Yoruba priestess of Oshun, Ms Martinez feels that creating artwork for Orisha is a blessing and a gift.
