A love of all things 'stationery' led to this Australian business being established in 2014. PennedBlack designs unique and stylish paper goods from a boutique studio in Brisbane, Australia. Meet Kiran Raj - the Owner & Creative Director of PennedBlack, a paper goods business made with love, based in Brisbane Australia. PennedBlack was established after Kiran’s boyfriend pushed her to start selling her hand-drawn prints online, after filling his bedroom with her designs. Three years on, PennedBlack has expanded its range and flourished to become a thriving small business. Initially, PennedBlack sold hand-drawn prints exclusively, however in the past year, the business has expanded to include a range of foil products, including greeting cards, gift tags and notebooks. After graduating from Queensland University of Technology in 2013 with a background in Interactive & Visual Design and Advertising, Kiran had a passion for design that drove her to create a brand to share her designs with other stationery lovers. Kiran takes inspiration from everyday life as well as current trends to create her paper goods designs. PennedBlack’s initial retail line was launched midway through last year, and it’s products are now stocked in a variety of retail stores across Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada and online. PennedBlack’s products have also been featured in Australian national magazines such as the December 2016 issue of ‘Home Beautiful'. Kiran is excited to continue developing her brand over the coming year, and is already busy thinking up new designs for her next collection.
