Porcelain Pill

Music – Melbourne

Since forming in 2011, Porcelain Pill (Adam Scott-McGuinness and Madeleine Becker) have been steadily building an audience through their diverse and exciting live shows. The traditional band format is shattered and rebuilt from the floor up in this folktronica duo. Ponderous guitar and cello lines feed upon glitchy electronic beats to build a solid groove for the male and female vocal combination. June 2013 saw the release of the pair\'s debut, self-title EP “porcelain pill”. In true indie-style, the EP was recorded and produced by the band giving the creative freedom to experiment and craft a unique musical sound away from studio time restraints. Porcelain Pill draw on influences such as The Postal Service, Radiohead, and Jonsi to display an eagerness to explore the possibilities within this new folktronica genre and also begs the question “how do they achieve this live?” This is done through the use of live looping/sampling/sequencing and a lot of movement between instruments within the band. \"With such incredible musical chemistry palpable on stage, Adam Scott-McGuinness and Maddy Becker have really produced a strong and different sound that is porcelain pill.\" - Janine Estoesta, Timber and Steel (www.timberandsteel.wordpress.com) \"With consistently deep vocals, their steadiness is grounding to the melody\'s dreamy atmospheric presence.\" -Stef Italia, The Ripe (www.theripe.tv) “Really incredible sounds coming from @porcelainpill. Keep an eye on this duo...” -OneSteveJames on Twitter (triplej unearthed super user)
