Visual Art – San Francisco

My recent work examines the relationships between individual moments, natural and intimate, that are reminiscent of the life around me. Every piece I create is an effort to unearth myself. I often use multiple layers to create a sense of dimensionality, a sense of emotion that evoke mystery within the familiar. I often find myself engaging with the canvas and the erratic nature of the medium, allowing me embrace all the happy accidents. Gravity can be a superb painting tool drips of paint can be controlled through tipping and altering the direction of a canvas. These imperfections create a sense of "life is not perfect after all – imperfections make it beautiful". Tools I use vary from brushes to credit cards which is reflected in the bold and imperfect strokes. I recently came to realize that my colors are inspired from nature these come from simple activities such as taking nature walks or a general observation of my surroundings with time. My current work focusses on children. There is a child in all of us and as we grow into adulthood we tend to forget that part of us. The current series is inspired from a song titled "Sitya Loss" - in Lugandan meaning let me dance, dance for the moment, life is short and music is so good, I do not fear.
