Rebecca Hinwood

Rebecca Hinwood is an emerging contemporary jewellery designer based in Sydney, New South Wales. Rebecca has had an interest in the creative arts since childhood, developing a particular interest in the art of jewellery making during her teens. This interest developed into a passion, leading her to complete a Bachelor in Visual Arts and a year of Honours, Majoring in Gold and Silvesmithing at the Australian National University under the teachings of Johannes Khunen, an internationally recognised silversmith. It was during her time at university that Rebecca was first introduced to Contemporary jewellery and the idea of conceptual art which has had a major influence on the work she produces today. Since university Rebecca has participated in several exhibitions and awards including two of her solo exhibitions and being a finalist in the National Contemporary Jewellery Awards, the WaterHouse Nature Science Art Prize and Contemporary Wearables. Her most recent achievement has been the completion of a Diploma in Gemmology with the Gemmology Association of Australia, New South Wales. Today, Rebecca continues to expand her knowledge and perfect her skills in pursuit of her passion for the art of jewellery.
