Visual Art – Phoenix

Heather L. Edgar learned to paint and draw through trial and error while recovering from a disabling injury in 1999. After earning a multimedia design degree from GCC in 2003, she had her first gallery exhibit in July of 2007. Since then she has gone on to participate in more than 40 exhibits, festivals and competitions, including several solo exhibits of her work in & around the Phoenix area. In addition, she has had works shown in several cities around the country, as well as Hong Kong, with a themed sketchbook housed in the permanent collection of the Brooklyn Art Library in Brooklyn, New York. She even managed to pick up an international award for her artwork in 2010. Heather continues to live & work in the greater Phoenix area, most recently live-painting at the Arizona Science Center, painting sets for First Friday Night Live and appearing as the “Living Canvas” at a variety of events. On most First Fridays she can be found volunteering at the Artlink information table, outside the Phoenix Art Museum. Ms. Edgar\'s work can often also be found at such First Friday landmarks as Gallery Celtica, The Firehouse Gallery, and The Irish Cultural Center. As she works to widen the scope of exposure for her art, she continues to donate time, talent, & artwork to a variety of charitable organizations and other worthy causes.
