The company was founded in 2009. They kick off their celebration with an international tour: "Tour 10!" in the Fall of 2018. 2019 also marks a 30 year anniversary of Miss Andressen's dance career. This company performs dances from heart felt to joy; delves into contemporary social issues that concern our world; they walk the line of controversy and contemplation and as Miss Andressen say, "raw-real-uncensored™". (This trademark slogan was coined from her real life experience of having her work censored.) Rubans Rouges Dance previously existed and held the name for eight years as: Noelle Andressen Dance and performed on TLNetwork in Beauty from Ashes a TV Dance Drama Film released in 2007 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1045020/ "Red Ribbons" is the company's epic flagship dance drama created in 2008. It was the springboard in which the company began. For its first performance in 2008, it was censored and almost banned due to the subject matter: sexual child abuse. It was intended as a gift to communicate to someone that she understood. "Sometimes you cannot use words so I dance." Miss Andressen chose to use dance to express herself and share the light of truth for a beloved butterfly. To this day, "Red Ribbons" has been seen live by over 20,000 people and over 48% of the market share on TV. The company produces and hosts "Awakenings & Beginnings International Dance Festival". The festival began the fall 2012. It is the first dance festival of the year in January that features dance companies internationally. It kicks off with Master Classes, community events, social circles, dancer & choreographer mentor-ship program, events and happenings, casual performances and formal presentations. The performances feature: modern, contemporary, modern ballet, modern hip hop fusion, classical ballet/pointe, cirque, lyrical, performance theater, multi-media dance, classical tap, and Butoh. The festival honors those who laid down the foundation in modern dance called: "The Mother & Fathers of Modern Dance". The Closing Night Performance features a VIP Red Carpet Gala and has featured some of the top, high profile dance companies internationally. The "Awakenings Award" has been presented for the past 5 years and honors those in the media, arts, and inspirational influencers. About the Performance: The solo work "Inner Soul" (2012) is based on Miss Andressen's breast cancer experience. During her treatment she felt ugly and hindered. She discovered that there is beauty in the struggle. The soloist dances inside of fabric netting and shows constricted movement and the escaping from it. It's a metaphor for bringing the beauty from within to the outside. The duet presented is called "Coeur de Verre" (2010) French for: Heart of Glass is a duet section from "Red Ribbons". It depicts the yearning and desire to connect and the fear of getting hurt. This piece delves into the literal and figurative meanings of trust via weight sharing; balancing; power moves and risky throws and catches. It is a passionate piece exploring learning to trust again even when we may feel the most frail. It features the company's trademark move that they call the "T Split". About the Music: The music that plays along with the videos below is scored by Kristopher, her husband. One of the pieces was nominated for a region Emmy.
