Visual Art – Portland

I call myself an illustrator formally but I like to explore just about all methods of creating visual art. It's all about communication, being clear and enticing with visual tricks meant to keep the observer in the piece and in conversation. What needs to be said sometimes needs different tools to be readable. In my art I tend to lean toward abstract views of cellular structure and identity and stories, pushing the idea that our various realities consist of more than meets the eye. Being transgender these subjects are held near and dear to me. My art features the natural and unnatural as one and the same, and humans as participants in a mysterious and somewhat unfamiliar world.
