Ryn R. Climenhaga is an artist hailing from Calgary, Alberta, who currently resides in the historic Old Strathcona neighbourhood in Edmonton, Alberta. Using strong lines and bright, bold colours, Ryn strives to capture the hallucinatory quality of dreams, and the space between waking and sleeping in watercolour paintings. She displays a knowledge of artistic alchemy in blending the real and the unreal to create surreal landscapes populated by strange creatures. With a fondness for word-play, she has spent the last year or so delving into the realm of custom patches; working with customers to create a one-of-a-kind design that they can carry with them wherever they go. Ryn has taken several fine arts classes through the University of Alberta's Faculty of Extension, including Contemporary Thematic Development, as well as several Drawing intensives.
